Daytona Sandown Park

Come and take on Team KartForce at Daytona Sandown Park on Sun 3rd June for our second outdoor team endurance race.
The lads came an impressive 6th in their debut enduro at Whilton Mill so, as always, they’re extremely eager and aiming to improve on this result. Daytona have been keen to support us and have very generously offered track time so the lads can get some practice and coaching in the weeks leading up to the big race.
This will be a 2 ½ hour endurance race with 30 teams, each team consisting of max 5 drivers – arrive by 12.00hrs. Drivers must be 16 or over – or 14 for experienced kart racers. Cost is £300 per team. Karts will be twin engine ProKarts.

Guinness World Record![]() We were contacted by the team from Dino Kart Record who are aiming to break the existing world record for the furthest driven by a team in 24 hours on Mon 9th & Tue 10th July. They want to support KartForce and raise funds for us. Check out their web site – www.DinoKartRecord.com We decided to apply to set a new world record – “Karting - greatest distance in 24 hrs outdoors (team) - hand controls” – which has now been approved. A team of 4 injured troops will set this new world record at the same time and location as Dino Kart Record, who will provide us with full technical support and coaching. Each year, a new team of injured troops will attempt to break this record. More world record applications will be announced soon. Please support us by making a donation – http://www.justgiving.com/KartForceWorldRecord New Team Helmets![]() GridKings and M & P heard we needed crash helmets so kindly agreed to donate 4 Koden helmets each. We were then contacted by Rob “Keets” Keightley, who’s brother served with the Royal Anglians in Afghanistan - his son Oakley is a keen Zip Bambino kart racer. Keets offered to design and spray the team helmets, also personalising them with each lads name, regimental colours and individual contribution. Young Oakley presented the first helmet to Martyn at our team race in Birmingham and will be presenting the rest of the team with their new helmets at the Whilton Mill race on Sun 1st Apr 2012. Click here to check out the photos of the fantastic design and spray job Keets has done. |
